The County Clerk's public hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Money transactions stop at 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 3:30 p.m. Friday. The county does not publish separate sheriff records-counter hours, so call 361-449-2271 before a visit. District Clerk requests without a cause number cost $5 and require prepayment. County Clerk copies cost $1 per page, with $5 added for certification.
